The excitement is palpable as Concrete Decor magazine works to present the best Concrete Decor Show yet! We’re bringing the industry’s best experts to San Diego, California, Sept. 25-29, for hands-on workshops and classes covering everything from business management to concrete finishing techniques.
The posh Town and Country Resort & Convention Center — with three pools, a European health spa, a restaurant, café and sports bar — will serve as home base for the week. An incredible resort that encourages mingling so you can easily network with your peers, Town and Country exudes tropical beauty amidst a relaxed atmosphere. It’s located only a few minutes away from Old Town, Balboa Park, SeaWorld San Diego and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. Getting around is easy as the resort offers free shuttle service to nearby area attractions. For the more adventurous, it’s close to a trolley stop, too.
Bent Mikkelsen, publisher of Concrete Decor magazine and the show’s promoter, will be the featured speaker at the Distributor Luncheon. In his address, “Big Data Means Big Profits,” he’ll talk about powerful new ways to gather information on customers and prospects that translate into more money in the till.
He’ll explain how collecting and properly using information from store visitors and customers, as well as those who visit your website and read your e-newsletters, can help your company grow in ways you never thought possible. In this lunchtime presentation, Mikkelsen will identify powerful and proven methods you can use to turn a big audience into big profits each year. Prepare to be inspired and equipped to get new programs underway quickly while networking with other distributors.
New to the 2016 show is a block of classes on improving business skills. Business Boot Camp will include sessions that will off
er tips on such things as how to keep the peace and even be successful when you run a business with your significant other and how to collect on delinquent bills.
The Bannister Family House, which provides a home-like environment for people with family members in long-term or critical care at the nearby UC San Diego Health medical center, is the site of the show’s training workshops and its nonprofit beneficiary this year. With donated materials and attendees’ labor, the workshops will improve the house’s indoor shared space and patio, courtyard area and retaining wall.
Currently, the concrete is broken, discolored and plain, and the shared spaces are not effective or visually pleasing. As part of the workshops, participants will learn hands-on skills in a real-world work environment and leave beautiful concrete work behind to brighten people’s lives.
The show will once again include the Paint Decor Annex, offering exhibits, demonstrations and workshops devoted to decorative painting and faux finishing techniques that can be used on floors, furniture, walls or ceilings. Concrete artisans can take advantage of these paint-related offerings to improve their skills and learn new ways to form and fashion concrete and expand their decorative offerings to their customers.
Overall, the show promises to present great opportunities to reach some of the most influential people in both the painting and concrete industries. Suppliers, distributors and resellers also will benefit from seeing and learning about cutting-edge products they may want to add to their own inventory.
Booth space is still available for the show. If you haven’t already signed up, what are you waiting for? Call (877) 935-8906 today and reserve a space in the hottest show in the industry. Hope to see you there!
